Benzo & Xanax Treatment Center Rehab In Los Angeles

SANTA MONICA

An Introduction To Benzodiazepine Addiction

Alprazolam, also known as Xanax is a prescription medication that’s in the benzodiazepines family. Benzodiazepines are used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression. It works by slowing down chemicals in the brain that may become unbalanced and cause anxiety. It is also used to treat sleep problems, seizures, and for the prevention of nausea and vomiting.

If you take more than the recommended dosage, a blackout is almost certain. This is also true if it’s mixed with alcohol. We’ve had many clients who faced legal problems as the result of decisions they’ve made while blacked out. One should never attempt to quit Benzodiazepines or Xanax on their own. Doing so places them at an extremely high risk for Seizure and other potentially life-altering complications.

WHAT TYPE OF XANAX ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER IS FOR ME?

Most clients going into inpatient rehabilitation programs for Xanax care begin with a period of medical detox. This detox period is designed to effectively manage Xanax withdrawal and keep the person safe and comfortable. Medically supervised detox is followed by therapy, education, and relapse prevention training that can last up to six months.

After the initial detox and 30 day rehab perioid, many choose to participate in an outpatient setting so they can work and maintain commitments. In more severe Xanax addictions, some people choose to stay in the residential inpatient setting for 90 days or longer.

BENZODIAZEPINE TREAMENT & CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, anxiety disorders are the most common mental illnesses in the United States. In 2014, there were around 40 million Americans who had an anxiety disorder in the past year, and around 18.1 million people who had an anxiety disorder in the past month.

Someone who struggles with an addiction and a co-occurring mental health disorder is said to have a dual diagnosis. A co-occurring mental health disorder is a mental health disorder that accompanies an addiction. Mental health disorders like anxiety, depression, personality disorders, and eating disorders are often paired with addiction.

Seachange Recovery is a JCAHO accredited facility with the medical staff you need to ensure your entire condition is treated, with the goal of long lasting recovery as a result.

We Are A 12 Step Based Benzo Treatment Center

With our supervision and help, the patient will gradually decrease the amount of benzos ingested over a predetermined timeline. This is done through weekly meetings with the patient and their support system. With this method, the patient is given a set amount of pills to bring home with them each week.

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a form of psychotherapy used to treat a variety of mental health conditions, including anxiety disorders, depression, and substance abuse. It helps patients learn and practice coping strategies to deal with daily stressors and trigger situations. CBT helps patients recognize destructive behaviors and triggers for benzo usage along with effective ways to cope with them.

Contingency management works by rewarding people for certain behaviours, like attending treatment or not using benzos. The rewards can be tangible or intangible. For example, if someone attends a certain number of group sessions a week, they might get a movie ticket or a coffee.

However, the mind and body are only one part of the solution. We highly encourage all of our clients to attend 12 step meetings with us, before and after treatment. Almost all Xanax addicts who have had long lasting recovery attribute much of it to their experience in 12-step groups.
