Drug and Alcohol Treatment Centers & Alcohol Rehab

SANTA MONICA

An Introduction To Drug & Alcohol Addiction

Both drug use disorder and alcohol use disorder is a condition that can be diagnosed when your pattern of alcohol use is problematic and causes significant distress. But it’s important to remember that everyone has different needs when it comes to treating AUD. Alcohol rehab is an important step for many people, but it’s not the only step. It can range from mild to severe, depending on how many symptoms you have. The care you’ll need depends in part on where you fall in that range.

Withdrawal from alcohol can cause a wide range of physical and emotional symptoms, including a rapid heart rate, nausea, vomiting, shaking, sweating, headaches, anxiety, and depression. If you think you may have a problem with alcohol, it’s important to see a doctor right away.

WHAT TYPE OF DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTION TREATMENT CENTER IS FOR ME?

If you feel like you’re struggling to give up drugs or alcohol, it’s important to get medical help. If you’re dependent on drugs and alcohol, then going “cold turkey” or quitting “willpower alone” can put your life at risk.

The first step in the recovery process is usually detox. Depending on the severity of the drug or alcohol addiction, this may mean a stay in a residential rehab facility or it may mean a stay in the hospital. In some cases, you may be given medicines to help manage some of the symptoms of withdrawal. The detox symptoms that you’ll experience may last a week or more, typically hitting their worst within 24-72 hours. This is not a good time to detox on your own. You’re more likely to stick with a detox program when you have lots of help.

More About Our Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center

It’s important to note that there are two different types of alcohol detox: inpatient alcohol detox and outpatient alcohol detox.

Inpatient detox involves staying at a hospital, detox clinic, or rehab center during the process. You’ll have care around the clock to help you through. Inpatient usually offers more services, but it tends to cost more.

Outpatient works best if your physical and mental health is good, your home is stable, you have support at home, and you don’t have a long history of problem drinking.

In our residential alcohol rehab, you live at a beautiful home near the beach, usually for 1-3 months. These alcohol rehab centers are filled with people who have similar problems to you, which can help with your recovery process. Residential rehab is good if you have a more serious drug or alcohol addiction problem and struggle to stay sober after many attempts on your own.

DRUG & ALCOHOL TREAMENT & CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS

It’s not uncommon to see mental health issues existing alongside drug and alcohol abuse. Sometimes the conditions are pre-existing, sometimes they are brought on as part of the substance abuse. In any case, long lasting recovery requires the whole individual to be treated. As a JCAHO accredited facility, you can rest assured our professionals are able to deliver the superior level of care required for dual diagnosis.

We Are A 12 Step Based Drug & Alcohol Treatment Center

Alcohol rehab is a full-time job. It’s not something you can do on the side while you’re still drinking. You’ll have to commit to it 100% for at least the first 30 days. After that, you may choose to continue attending AA meetings on a regular basis for the rest of your life. You have options when it comes to your mental health recovery.

There are different types of programs, from 12-step programs to private therapy to group counseling, and choosing the right one for you is really important. 12 step programs are a key aspect in our drug and alcohol addiction recovery program. They help individuals sort out the wreckage of their past and find a spirtual connection to a higher power. Once a person has found this connection, they are able to work on their shortcomings and start to repair their relationships with others.
